New Political Writing Prize 2005
Entries are invited for the Barry Amiel and Norman Melburn Trust/New Statesman Prize for New Political Writing on the subject:Do women’s rights remain the privilege of the developed world?
Entrants must be under 30 on Friday 29 April 2005, which is the closing date for entries. There will be a prize of £1,000 for the winning essay, which will be published in the New Statesman, and prizes of £500 and £250 for those placed second and third.
The judges will be:
Clare Short, MP and former Secretary of State for International Development;
Kate Allen, director of Amnesty International UK;
Nina Fishman, professor of history at the University of Westminster;
Mike Rustin of the Barry Amiel and Norman Melburn Trust
Peter Wilby, editor of the New Statesman.
