Online production assistant internship

Editorial Internship
The New Statesman editorial internship is a great opportunity to experience first-hand the running of a weekly magazine and to work with a busy editorial team. Interns will be expected to carry out research for the editorial team and to help out with day to day office duties and administrative tasks. They will also be welcome to pitch articles which, if accepted, will be published in the magazine or on the website, and to contribute ideas and thoughts about the magazine in editorial meetings.
Applicants must:
- be educated to degree level
- have a strong interest in politics and current affairs
- be self-motivated, efficient, well organised and reliable.
Information:
- A standard placement lasts two months. Working hours are 10am - 6pm with early starts and late finishes on press days.
- All interns are based in our offices in Victoria.
- Placements are unpaid; however interns will be paid our standard rates for any articles published and we do cover travel costs (within London zones 1-3)
- We have more applicants than places; candidates are selected on merit.

Arts and Books Internship
The arts and books internship offers an excellent opportunity to be fully involved in the day-to-day running of a busy arts desk. Working with a small team of editors, interns will be expected to research arts events, contribute ideas for future pages, carry out basic editing and assist with general administrative tasks. They will also have the chance to pitch and write up book reviews and arts pieces.
- Applicants must be educated to degree level, have a thorough knowledge of literature and contemporary arts and a keen interest in arts journalism.
- The internship lasts for one month and is based in our offices in Victoria. Hours are 10am-6pm, Mon-Fri and the position is unpaid, although travel expenses can be reimbursed.
