On 11 May, the New Statesman hosted a round-table discussion on delivering new localism. This event formed part of the programme of the New Statesman New Media Awards 2004, held in association with Atos Origin. The purpose of the round table was to explore the debate about new localism and what is involved in ensuring that local service providers, local authorities, health trusts, police services and others, work more effectively across their respective sectors to put the customer first. Progress has been made on the e-government agenda, but what are the next steps?
